The 2022 Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year
Sep 17, 2022 - Dec 11, 2022
Ticket: Free
Immerse yourself in the beauty and fragility of the natural world in the 2022 Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year exhibition.

Featuring 100 photographs by 74 photographers, the exhibition showcases an amazing array of animals and landscapes from the bioregion of Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and the New Guinea.

The images highlight the skill and timing of wildlife photographers, who venture into remote landscapes, often in extreme temperatures and brutal conditions, to capture their award-winning shots.

This year, seven young photographers are celebrated in the Junior category.

The connection between animals and humans – sometimes destructive, sometimes companionable – is explored in the portraits of the Urban Animals, Threatened Species and Our Impact categories.

The 2022 competition also features a new category – Astrophotography, where the subject of the photograph must be the night sky.

The exhibition will run alongside Sharks. Combined, these two exhibitions paint a captivating picture of the grandeur of our natural world and the impact of human and built environments.
