Making a shoe
The Modo sneaker is one of Wanjiru Muriu-Anami's signature achievements. It is aimed at the discerning woman who values quality

Inspiration: plates

These plates bear intricate designs which served as inspiration for the design by Wanjiru of the Modo sneaker

Wanjiru uses vibrant colours for the modern trendy woman.

Wanjiru uses beads which are locally sourced from markets all over Kenya.

Wanjiru's slogan is to "count every bead to ensure quality".

The Modo is made from an ordinary sneaker but with a throwback to a more traditional time to create a contemporary feel to it.

The beads are handstitched carefully with great precision
