WONDERWALLS: SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT ON WOMEN STREET ARTISTS

The Women’s Forum Street Art Project shows how much we’re missing if we believe street art to be the exclusive province of men. Ten women street artists from around the globe take part and contribute artwork on theme "She's a Leader”.

Meet the women behind the walls...

Vermilion pasting, Istanbul Graffiti festival 2013. Location: Maltepe, Istanbul, Turkey.
storm + car crush, Istanbul Street Art Festival 2013. Location: Maltepe, Istanbul, Turkey.
The Women's Forum Street Art Project:  “SHE'S A LEADER”. Location: 39 Iera Odos, Athens, Greece.

“Walls are just another canvas. Leaving my mark in the urban landscape has become an integral part of my work.

The figures or landscapes that I paint then go on to have their own existence in the cities.”

This mural is dedicated to the first Greek woman painter, called Eleni Boukoura-Altamoura. Here we see her when she was young dreaming of travelling foreign seas.
