Pergamena's ethical and environmental friendly approach to leather tanning

Pergamena's ethical and environmental friendly approach to leather tanning
Pergamena is recognized as North America’s leader in parchments and leathers. From raw materials to custom projects, all products are handmade at Pergamena. Their dedication to craftsmanship is blended with modern advancements and aesthetics.
Ethical and environmental conscious
Pergamena leather comes from animals that have died naturally or been raised for food. The leathers are vegetable-tanned ad dyed with natural and biodegradable dyes or pigments whenever possible. Vegetable tanning takes advantage from the tannic acids found naturally in some plant species, such as barks, branches, leaves and even some fruits. The vegetable tanning is chromium and formaldehyde-free, which are some of the major problems in the leather industry.
Appreciation of true value
Throughout their philosophy of superior handicraft rooted in traditions, Pergamena seeks to inspire that same feeling of valuing in their customers, as well as joy in appreciating an exquisitely crafted product.
