Padiglione Italia Expo Milano 2015

Women are protagonists in Italy Pavilion

"ME and WE – Women for Expo - The ideas of women" is Milan Expo 2015’s tribute to women and their crucial role as engines of change and growth. ME and WE – Women for Expo hosted the winning projects from the two competitions promoted by Women for Expo and Italy Pavilion: Projects for women and Projects by women. WE - Projects by women is a competition of ideas whose goals are promoting the talents, planning abilities, and entrepreneurial skills of women in light of Milan Expo 2015. Almost 150 participants from throughout Italy submitted 100 ideas touching upon a wide variety of fields of applications. The 3 winning projects: “OrtiAlti” by Elena Carmagnani and Emanuela Saporito; “Alto Piemonte. Al-Top!” by Marina Olwen Fogarty and Find My Lost by Elena Bellacicca.

“OrtiAlti” by Elena Carmagnani and Emanuela Saporito. The project's goal is to encourage the planting of community rooftop gardens, generating immediate environmental benefits and social cohesion.

“Alto Piemonte. Al-Top!” by Marina Olwen Fogarty. Marina opened her own local wine-growing business for the purpose of producing PDO wine in a sustainable fashion and creating a cultural hub.

“FindMyLost” by Elena Bellacicca. The project consists of an app that can put anyone who loses an item in touch with the person who finds it.

Agricatering is a “farm to fork” catering service managed by women farmers belonging to Donne in Campo and offers buffets for events with genuine products plucked from the fields and cooked directly.

The Women@Work Italia association was established in March 2012. The project aimed to provide gender support for female-owned businesses, and targets businesswomen from a wide variety of sector.
