The Essence Of Huang Chih-Yang’s Creative Work Comes From His Exploration Of And Imaginings About Primal Power, Finding Methods And Reasons For Movement In The Microscopic World. Immersing Oneself In One Of His Paintings Is Like Being In A Primitive Jungle, The Scene Enveloped In Vines, Filling Our Line Of Sight, Forming A Tightly Woven Wall. Taking Ink Art As His Base Huang Adds Layers Of Color And His Linear Lines Become Unclear, Obscure And Ambiguous.

Pictures Are The First Things We Read. When We Are Little We Always Want Our Bookcases To Be Filled With Picture Books And Most Especially Pop-Up Picture Books. These Are Often Things Children Can’t Put Down, Each Page Turning Into Its Own Paper Sculpture As It Is Turned, Almost As If A Scene From The Story Appears Before Our Very Eyes. The Pictures Jump Out At Us Page After Page And As We Turn The Pages We Are Drawn Into The Different Plots Of The Story.

The Lines And Shapes In The Works Of Chu Fang-Yi Come From Placing Agglomerating, Reassembling Or Transferring Objects Used In Daily Life, From Ancient Times To The Present.. These Objects May Come From Memories Of Antiquity, Primitive Plants, Products Of Industrialization Etc.
