All City Canvas started in 2012, inspired by the Mexican muralist movement, as one of the most important urban festivals in the world in Mexico City. All City Canvas has evolved in its way of spreading its message and currently it is one of the most influential street culture platforms. The artists
Herakut is a two-person team from Germany, Jasmin Siddiqui, also known as “Hera” and Falk Lehman, known as “Akut”. Herakut’s creative art process is sensuous and wild. This remarkable and powerful duo create imaginary worlds and inspiring characters.

Their approach is almost symbiotic, as one improvises, the other expands on their idea and the end result gives an almost schizophrenic vibe.

Their figures can be seen in the context of social fractions and collective constraints, but also embedded into fabulous quotes that speak of love. The figures reflect the multifaceted aspects of life.
The mural
Entitled “El pasado puede ser un regalo para el futuro”, this mural is the result of several conversations the artists, Hera and Akut, had with passerbys. Hera captured the concern older generations have towards the lack of interest shown by kids towards their past, which they view as a cultural malaise.
