Modern and brave

Gothenburg Symphony

We look upon our selves as a modern and brave orchestra holding a leading position in using new techniques. Here are some examples.

11 December 2013 – We hid 40 musicians at Landvetter Airport to surprise the travelers and give them a flying start on their trip.

World-renowned conductor Kent Nagano, horn player Lisa Ford and producer Felix Gargerle presented The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra’s recording of Richard Strauss’ “Eine Alpensinfonie” at a Hi-Fi Scenen pre-listening session held at the Gothenburg Concert Hall.

We sat down with Lisa and Felix to talk about the recording, sound quality and the future of classical music.

The video features 15 musicians from the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra that have been spread across the Sweden in five different locations to play Mozart's famous chamber piece "Eine kleine Nachtmusik", live via Telia fiber connection.

We feel very proud to share this video from the event with Bowers & Wilkins and Volvo from the Drive-In Concert at Götaplatsen, a very cold November evening.

Launch video of Volvos new XC90 together with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. - A car with a sound system that can also simulate Gothenburg Concert recognized fine acoustics.

Children and young people have the opportunity to meet a musician in a caravan at Götaplatsen and then hear the entire orchestra in the Grand Hall. Fun, exciting, unforgettable. Close encounters with musicians and the orchestra are guaranteed.
