The Quixote and it’s representations.

The “Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha” is translated to almost all languages and has been published worldwide. It has also been adapted if multiple and different formats on many occasions, from films to comics, from TV series to theatre or radio. Its validity and temporal-less nature invite it’s continuous reading and representation. The experiences and adventures of knight Don Quijote and his squire Sancho Panza, the main characters of The Quixote, are, preliminary, a parody of the knights errant and their squires and yet exalt the fidelity to honor and the fight for the weak. In it’s background there is realism and fantasy, meditation and reflecting, madness and reality. To sum up, life itself. Modernity of The Quixote is beyond doubt, due to it’s contents and form as well as it’s recurrence. It’s editions are constant and so it’s adaptations as can be seen in the next collection.
