A variety of artwork by artist Frederic Remington.
The Broncho Buster, considered to be Remington's most successful and
recognizable sculpture, was his first undertaking in modeling and took
a year to produce.
This sculpture is one of 17 casts made. Ours is #15; the first 2 casts were not numbered. This group of riders was cast in five pieces; four horse and rider sets attached to the separately cast base.
The Remingtons bought this home in 1890 and remained in the house until 1909. They
named the house, which was located in New Rochelle, "Endion," an Ojibawa term for "The place where I live."
Remington Selections was curated by director Laura A. Foster of the Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg, NY.
