Google Arts & Culture Lab Artist in residence Jack Wild created Learning Light, a playful and educational experiment that showcases the usage of Gemini to help anyone explore lighting design in creative ways.

This interactive experience is designed to introduce users to the fundamentals of lighting within a virtual studio environment. Three interaction modes are available: guided learning through eight tutorials covering basic principles (intensity, color, focus, etc.) or four tutorials dedicated to reproducing lighting from Google Arts & Culture artworks; free exploration with intuitive creation tools (light control panel, object addition); and interaction with Gemini via a Luxbot chatbot. This last option allows users to modify scene lighting or ask questions about light using prompts.
