Born in 1969, Alexander McQueen worked as a tailor’s apprentice on Savile Row before graduating from Central St. Martin’s with a collection entitled “Jack the Ripper Stalking His Victims.” Subsequent collections continued his aggressively sexual approach to fashion, which he described as “eclectic verging on the criminal.”
