Tea drinking is an essence of enjoyment for water town people. Historically, there were more than sixty tea-houses in Wuzhen, such as Fanglu Ge, Sanyi Lou, Changchun Lou, Yi Dongtian, Mingyue Lou and Tianyun Lou, being located in the center of the town, with large scales, high grades and valued customers, while the peasants preferred smaller tea-houses scattered in the four districts (Wuzhen West, Wuzhen East, Wuzhen North and Wuzhen South) where they did business.
