The artist expertly depicted horses galloping in the wintery steppe, harmoniously combing the realistic precision of the drawing with the delicacy of the painted image. Stanisław Witkiewicz, when writing about the painter, described this as ”aiming to express movement, variability and suddenness of manifestations of life, pulsating in a horse, in the grass, water, sunshine or in a girl, all being vital elements of his temperament as a painter”.
