Left hand side view of 1976 Nissan Patrol G60 Station Wagon. The G60 is from the second generation of 4x4 Nissan Patrol’s produced by Nissan Japan. Its versatility made it a popular vehicle in both town and country.
Nissan Australia claims that the G60 was the first four wheel drive to cross the Simpson Desert in 1962. For the 50th anniversary of the event Nissan re-enacted the drive publicising the release of the Y62. However, conflicting claims argue that it was a Toyota Land Cruiser support vehicle that completed the drive first.
