Zhang Qinruo (1929 - December 26, 2009) was born in Pingshan, Heilongjiang Province. In 1948, he graduated from the Northeast Picture and Newspaper Art Training Course (former Yan'an Lu Yi). In the 1950s, he was taught by Mr. Wu Zuoren of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and studied in a refresher course for oil painting experts from the former Soviet Union. Now he is a member of China Artists Association, director of China Oil Painting Association, member of China Old Professors Association, and professor of Fine Arts Department of Chinese People's Liberation Army Academy of Art. He has participated in Chinese Oil Painting Annual Exhibition, Chinese Oil Painting Society Exhibition, Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition and Chinese Landscape Oil Painting Exhibition, and several joint exhibitions and solo exhibitions held by Beijing International Art Gallery. The trees and land in his works are magnified by his exaggeration and distortion, and are endowed with strong or elegant or clear color implications, which are of great expressive significance.
