Cotton batavia twill. Rectangular shaped piece running vertically. On a brown background in different chromatic shades there is a foliage decoration stencilled in silver, consisting of a large pineapple motif, adorned with leaves and branches framing it.
This reproduces a very usual 16th century design which although at first was thought to be unique to Venice has now been shown to be similar to designs produced in Spain. Characteristic of late Gothic or early Renaissance.
