Mr. Takuma Ito, Chairman of the Unagi-Imo Cooperative Association

Mr. Takuma Ito, Chairman of the Unagiimo Cooperative Association, was originally working on compost at a gardening company. He devised sweet potato “Unagiimo” cultivated by using the bones and head of the famous Hamamatsu eels as fertilizer and developing various products using Unagiimo. Recently, they are also said to be working on exports to Asian countries.
