Oasis Boy is a work by Ron English (United States, 1956). Often nicknamed the “godfather of street art”; and considered a key figure in Pop Surrealism, English began his artistic adventure through the intervention of billboards. His practice was always closely linked to social and economic criticism, positioning himself against the cannibalistic consumerism that defines our era. The Berlin Wall and the West Bank Wall have been some of the spaces chosen by the artist to demonstrate with his works an evident political commitment. Ron English brings together pop icons, corporate advertisements, and his own characters, thus giving rise to a proposal that is rooted in the most absolute contemporaneity.
