Spring Breeze in the Valley Bottom (谷底春风) was a representative of author’s later age. There was foggy endless in the background, the flowers were swaying in the bottom of a valley, telling audience the softness of spring breeze. The author combined modern oil painting with abstract strokes in traditional Chinese art, endowing the picture Chinese poetical and spiritual personality of nature. This kind of nature was what the artist kept pursuing for – oriental interests and charm with realistic western culture; western profusion with intangibility in oriental culture.
