Since he was fourteen, director Steve McQueen has been fascinated by Paul Robeson, an American singer and actor who was devoted to the emancipation of African Americans. McQueen made the video installation End Credits about Robeson’s political persecution, which can be seen at Loods 6. In this conversation with David Dibosa, curator and researcher at the Chelsea College of Arts in London, McQueen delves deeper into the work and legacy of the legendary figure Robeson.
