Matera and Petra, both listed as UNESCO sites, both carved into the rock, cradles of rock civilizations and equipped with ingenious underground canalization systems, are actually two worlds apart.
Photographer, director and writer Carlos Solito, with his project "Mater(i)a P(i)etra", brings the two cities together through thirty pairs of photographs. He manages to establish a network of connections and cross-references made up of mild and ancient flavors, solemnity and overwhelming beauty, as if both cities shared a sort of common soul.
