This work represents one of the rare figurative works of Rosaria's early period. The subject is an intense figure of a young woman, with a melancholy gaze sitting in the foreground, holding a twig with a few wilted flowers in her hands. The composition is dominated by intense colours, spread out on the canvas almost with a spatula. Maybe she was a friend who was at the Academy of Fine Arts with her.
