Epic II, an abstract painting composition, recalls in two dimensions the sculptural forms of the series of Architectural Proposals but also the shapes of her Angels made of marble. Alex Mylona, utilizing both abstraction and representation, created a large number of drawings and collages and systematically engaged in painting in direct relation, many times, with her sculptural proposals, and at the same time in direct correspondence with mental and emotional, experiential situations and realities. Many of her paintings have a symbolic content, as they refer to timeless and universal themes, focus on the secret of existence, love and motherhood, birth and death and at the same time strongly claim the need to recognize the position of women ― request and message running through the whole of her creation.
