Grand Evening Ensemble, Dress with Coat

This grand evening ensemble combines a strapless dress with an open coat. The dress, with narrow waist and wide skirt made of many lengths, is worked continuously. The corsage bodice is adorned with a bow. This closes with a zipper to the hip along the left side seam and hook and eye for the stiff underlying corsage made of lining silk and cotton tulle. Under the wide skirt is a stiff, flared petticoat with narrow waist. The wide, continuously worked coat of double-pleated crepe marocain displays a short necked collar that falls away from the neck and narrow, three-quarter length raglan sleeves.
