The painting shows a view from the artist’s studio in the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Following the example of French Impressionists, who repeatedly depicted the same element of the landscape, Fałat painted this view of Kraków’s Old Town several times – from various angles, in different light, and at different times of day and night. The painting on display in Wrocław shows the widest version of this panorama.
