Replica Fossil - Late Cretaceous 65 Mya - United States
Triceratops - "three-horned face" - gets its name from the three distinctive
horns on its skull. Unlike most dinosaurs, the most common part of
Triceratops to be preserved is the skull and accounts for a majority of the fossils attributed to the genus. Triceratops lived at the very end of the Late Cretaceous, and was the most successful animal in its environment.
