Friday Harbor, United States

Mursi women living in villages along the new government road attract the tourist camera by putting every conceivable thing on their heads - from brightly coloured yellow berries to dramatic accentuation of their features using white chalk paint. For each photo they charge 30 cents and every click is counted. These once highly symbolic adornments have become pieces of exotic apparel to attract the tourist dollar and provide a livelihood.
