This is a Landscape painting depicting a wooden bridge on which commuters are assembled to be ferried across what seems to be a lagoon. A large canoe already loaded with passengers can be spotted about to takeoff from the jetty. There are lively colours of yellow, blue, brown, green and red. A strip of dry land in brown showing a distant location fades into the horizon of the painting. Alex Shyngle captures the typical mood of locations of this nature which are common in the riverine areas and coastlines of Nigeria. Despite not being as popular as other means and types of transportation, water transportation is still very much in use in the country today.
