Madalena Monteiro, born on 15 May 1959, Coimbra, Portugal, holds a diploma in History and Philosophy. As a watercolour painter she searches for a transformation /transfiguration of what she perceives, fugitive nature moments become a nature on the edge of dream with faded out strokes that touch the unconsciousness of travels of all of us to so ordinary places but rich with so unusual corners. She understands art begins the moment the human being creates to represent or express, when represents the fight against the hopelessness of fighting the escape of time, which quashes what we are.
She trusts it to a matter more stable and durable than memory.
With atelier in Figueira da Foz, Portugal, the artist has made several individual and collective exhibitions, and she is represented with several works in private collections in Portugal and elsewhere in Europe and the USA.
The work of this watercolourist brings the viewer the tranquility and harmony of balance and wisdom. What we look at is the landscape that expects to be in love without time, among the motives that arouse to discover the detail and the desire to apprehend watching.
