A Dance Token

Open air dance pavillions were all the rage in Sweden from the turn of the century 1900 and several decades onwards. One had to purchase a token to dance. Most pavillions had thier name on the token to prevent unscrupulous rouge dancers. Gröna lund was, and still is, a fair ground at Djurgården in Stockholm. The word "Tivoli", actually a place in Italy, means "Fair Ground" or "Amusement Park" in Swedish.
