The prefabricated Howard House was designed by architect Frederick Gibberd and produced by the civil engineering and building contractors John Howard & Co. Constructed using a light steel frame clad with asbestos panels, it was designed for factory mass production. This photographed featured in the Ministry of Works volume 'A Survey of Prefabrication', March 1945.
