BOROBUDUR.
The magnificent world cultural heritage site, the largest Buddhist temple in the world.
One of the myths of Borobudur was that it was lost in the 10th century until its discovery by Raffles in 1814. In fact, Borobudur was well-known in the East Javanese period and its '72 Princes in cages' were mentioned in texts from the Islamic periods.
In this photo, "wayangs" or puppet shows were performed at the base of Borobudur.
