The exhibition “Bertoja and Mirola” aimed to explore the complexities of that extraordinary period that followed the Renaissance in art history, called “mannerism”, which brought a huge revolution in iconography and pictorial style from Italy to the European courts. Bertoja and Mirola were in fact part of it, and by following the Farnese family their work influenced and was influenced by artists even outside Italy, in France and other countries across the Alps.
