A Woman With a Japanese Parasol

The portrait was probably painted in the artist’s studio in Munich at the time of when she studied there, and where later she also gave classes in painting. The Japanese parasol used as a prop confirms that, like many other contemporary artists, Boznańska was also influenced by the culture and arts of the Land of Cherry Blossoms.
