Abras on Dubai Creek By Preschelle Ann Bigueras
For over six years of living in Dubai, I've come to know the city through the stories of its people and places. After some time of learning, observing, and photographing the city and its people, I have formed an immense connection with it. For this project, I decided to return to some of the places I visited during my first two years of stay here. Although I keep coming back to some of the locations, I wanted to see it and show it in a different light, maybe through a perspective garnered after quite a few years of accumulating experiences here. I tried looking out for something new, examining spaces that I may have overlooked during my first visit, and even trying to recall from memory what made me visit these places at that point in time. Despite Dubai’s reputation as a city that's always evolving, with skyscrapers or new commercial projects constantly on the rise, I take sentimental pleasure in seeing how some of these places still remain the same.
