The icon represents the moment of epiphany in which Baby Jesus is introduced to the Three Kings by the Virgin and St. Joseph. The kings have uncovered their heads as a sign of respect and present their offerings. Their crowns and a staff are placed on the floor and in the sky the star of Bethlehem that guided them, illuminates the scene by emanating golden rays and is surrounded by four cherubs.
