Adoration of the Shepherds

Alessandro Turchiearly 17th century

Museo di Castelvecchio

Museo di Castelvecchio
Verona, Italy

This is an early work by Turchi, still of 16th century culture, dating atound 1605. In the bright chromatic palette the influence of his master Felice Brusasorzi is still evident, in the soft pink of Mary's dress, in the yellow of the mantle of Joseph and in the various shades of blue that enrich the entire composition, while the effects of the light strokes on the black background are masterfully used in the miraculous interpretation of light.
