On György Ráth’s suggestion Sándor Apáti Abt found employment in the Zsolnay factory at Pécs, where he designed and fashioned numerous small sculptures, ornamental objects and ceramic paintings between 1898 and 1908. He taught at the factory’s apprentice school. A man of a powerful and original personality, he created works of emphatic force.
