As part of her series The Artists Papers, which documented important contemporary artworks and performances, Sugiura made photograms to commemorate the Japanese avant-garde artist Atsuko Tanaka's 1956 performance Electric Dress. After Electric Dress A Positive 4 is one of four unique positive photographs, each made up of four individually printed panels, that were produced from the original photogram After Electric Dress A. Each variant is distinctively toned.
