Agustina de Aragón (Reus, Catalonia, Spain 1786-Ceuta, Spain 1857) was a Spanish heroine who defended Spain during the Spanish War of Independence, first as a civilian and later as a professional officer in the Spanish Army. This painting is related to one of the prints from the series "Las Ruinas de Zaragoza" by Juan Gálvez and Fernando Brambila, printed in Cádiz, Spain, between 1812 and 1813.
