This magnificent Illuminated Qurʾān has two decorated medallions (one shown here) and two magnificent headpieces containing the Fātiḥa. The text of the Qurʾān is followed by some prayers and a Fal-nāmah. From the Library of Tipu Sultan, ruler of Mysore, seized by the British East India Company after he was killed during the siege of his palace in 1799. This manuscript was subsequently presented to the Library by the Company.
