Alatlı Pilav is a rice dish, prepared with lamb, chickpeas and raisins. The name Alatlı comes from Sivas district, one of the oldest cities of the Central Anatolia Region in Turkey. This dish is usually prepared at weddings. Our students not only learn a local dish by its name or how to prepare it but also learn history behind it in the 'Turkish Local Cuisine' class at the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, Yeditepe University.
