Alectoris rufa hispanica (taxidermy by Reis Júnior)

Here, the illustration of the partridge (Alectoris rufa, Linnaeus, 1758) has been superimposed by the taxidermied version of it made by Reis Júnior, the author of the book and ornithologist who commissioned the illustrations from Jaime Guimarães Cibrão. This taxidermy, on reserve at the MHNC-UP, may have been the same one that Cibrão used to create the illustration.
