Alfred Jodl Signs Act of Surrender in Reims, France

Colonel General Alfred Jodl, German Chief of Staff under the Doenitz regime, is shown here signing the document under which all remaining forces of the Germany Army are bound to lay down their arms in unconditional surrender.
