Algorithmic Altruism

The people most in need across Ghana are also the least likely to be aware of available solutions or have access to the education and technology to address those needs. Any technology would need to meet the end-user where they are in terms of geography, infrastructure, and education.
One potential use-case is the drought season in the arid northern regions of Ghana. The labor of locating, securing, and transporting clean drinking water and maintain food stores is a serious burden, which is predominantly shouldered by women. This could be ameliorated by an AI model that could locate, purify and store water in a way that the local population could easily access.
