A simple wall niche used to place a water pot, at the entrance of an Adivasi house which was near the top of a hill in the village. One would drink water as soon as returning home, tired from the walk up. Plastered with mud, the aliya was framed with patterns painted using a thick and deeper tone of mud plaster.
