Aluminum Panel Reception

Lee Yoonjung’s large-scale work. This aluminum panel was completed with the assistance and skills of artisan Shin Yooncheol, with whom she has worked with for years. This was installed at a café in Seoul, and the rough texture—like the surface of a planet far away from the Earth—is alluring. Matching her quiet personality, Lee prefers casting by making molds and frames, melting metals, and pouring them to solidify, rather than forging and shaping the metals through hammering.
