The Auxiliaries raided Balbriggan, County Dublin on 20 September 1920, in retaliation for an attack on RIC Head Constable Peter Burke and his brother, Sgt Michael Burke, in a pub in the town. They set fire to numerous buildings, causing extensive damage, and killed two men.
