With an osmosis process, the chambers of the extinct shell were filled of semi-precious quartz hard stones, highlighting the precise conservation of the geometry of the sutures, that represent the growth of the animal. The lytoceras ammonites are a member of the ammonidea family, the largest group of cephalopods. They were marine animals that once filled the prehistoric oceans of Cretaceous age.
